THE COAT

Recently I have found that I am stuck in a bit of a fashion rhythm. Pretty much every day I wear black skinny jeans, a baggy t-shirt, converse and a leather jacket. I don’t even know if I can call it fashion if I am honest. I sort of just forget that people can see me and dress completely for comfort. But then I had a bit of a bad day and when I remembered I had this pink beauty in my wardrobe I knew I had to make a whole outfit styled simply around The Coat.

Let me start off by saying, I have no idea where The Coat is from. It previously hung in my (one of) my mums wardrobes until it’s knight in shining armour (me) took it upon herself to rescue it. And then it hung in my coat closet for about a year and half. I know, who am I to judge my mum when I am equally as bad?

Despite that, I have now rescued it and let me tell you, I am in love. I wore it last month when Greg and I visited Iberica and realised just how cosy it was. Because holy hell – it is cosy. The faux fur lining that you can see on the collar and rolled up sleeves fills the inside of the entire jacket while it is insulated by the suede outer. Basically it is like wearing a giant, good looking duvet all day. Something I am not going to say no to.

I wanted to make that the centre piece for the entire outfit so knew everything else was to be simple and not my usual go to. So I pulled out my old grey trousers that I used to wear for uni newsdays (God knows why we had to dress smart for uni) and an old faithful high neck crop top. No I have a particularly small body meaning the trousers ride up past my waist, however I also have an ample rack which means that any crop top is pulled up slightly higher than my waist – do you see my problem here? Nevertheless – with the jacket I puleld it off. And without the jacket, well we don’t take photos or talk about that do we?

So what do you think of this outfit? I also have a little outfit video that I am working on going live soon on my YouTube channel in case you aren’t already subscribed. I want to make a video of my favourite outfits from January so keep your eyes peeled for that. But for now you can enjoy my travel plans and my first trip of the yearAnd now that the plug is done – have you ever watched any of your mums clothes?

  • I love this coat! I stole my mum’s old sheep skin coat that she got in the 70s then hide in our attic for years, but it’s not quite as good looking as this! Such a great outfit post, and the colour makes it great to wear as we come into Spring!
