I pretty much fell in love with this dress the moment I saw it. I have been looking for something with big sleeves, that is super floaty and a perfect transition between the seasons.
Woah I almost sounded like a real fashion blogger there.
But I have really been making an effort to find something that I could wear to transition between all the seasons, whether that be winter to spring, spring to summer, summer to autumn, I just wanted a transition dress. I also didn’t want to spend a lot of money but I wanted to quality so I was setting a bit of a challenge.
I had a wee look in Zara but for some reason I couldn’t find anything that tickled my fancy. I also wandered round Mango, River Island, Topshop, Primark and Miss Selfridge. All my usual haunts. I had a bit of a snoop online and was about to call it quits when Greg asked me to go to the shops with him.
And then, as we walked into H&M to head upstairs to the mens, we locked eyes. Okay so the dress hasn’t got any eyes, but I spotted the dress. The floral pattern was muted but not too muted. It was black and it had the flowy baggy style I was looking for.
The only issue is that the waist bit didn’t sit on my waist. Unfortunately the tatas were up to no good which meant the dress was pulled up. And in all honesty, I almost returned it. But then the compliments rolled in. And I am not talking about the “nice” compliments you see in Instagram, I mean my friends all saying how pretty I looked. It made me feel really special and happy.
Compliments don’t usually do that to me but I felt really good in the dress so I ended up not returning it. And I love it. It is so easy to dress up and down – heels and nice make up for dinner, fancy-ish shoes for a day of meetings or just the classic converse for a day of wandering around in the sun.
Basically I am in love with this dress.
